CB Gift Guide Final Installment

Curtsy Mama is dragging a little today. Two late nights in a row has made for one tired cookie, but hey - fun is much more important than sleep! Am I right? Of course I am! The store's been hopin today, so I'm trying to fit this in between gift wraps.

So let's finish up The Curtsilicious Gift Guide. I left you hanging yesterday with no ideas for your BFF or that hard to buy for sheep wrangler. First of all, for your best pal, a pair of new Tarina Tarantino earrings will show her just how much you value her friendship. After all, she's been there for you for the good, the bad, the ugly and the really ugly. You owe her big time! Part of the Gothic Lolita Collection these 3" long lucite fleur-de-lis bead earrings on crystal posts with Swarovski crystal drops are gorgeous! They're the perfect way to say thanks for being my friend and loving me and for never telling anybody about the really ugly times!

OK - I have to say that I'm sitting here trying to type this blog and cracking up. I just googled the phrase "sheep wrangler" to help spark my imagination and what comes back, but Monday's blog where the sheep wrangler first appeared. Too funny! To be perfectly honest, I don't really know any sheep wranglers, have never met any sheep wranglers and don't profess to know what they would like for Christmas. What I do know is that if I were a sheep wrangler, I think I would love a Christmas Story Leg Lamp. I mean how many times have you watched that movie and thought how cool it would be to have that lamp? Yes it's kitchy, but we love it, that's just the way it is.

CB Gift Guide Part 2

I swear that yesterday was only 6 hours long - yep I'm pretty sure it was some wierd type of phenomenon that sucked 18 hours worth of time out of my day! I don't know where the time went, but I do know that I only accomplished about 6 hours worth of work. Anyways, a thousand apoligies for yesterday's missing blog.

Back to the Curtsilicious Holiday Gift Guide. Your child's teacher, we all know they deserve a million dollars for their dedication and devotion. Since your last name's probably not Gates, you'll have to settle for giving them a lovely gift instead. The Overworked and Underpaid Soak is just the thing. At the very least they deserve a few nice hot soaks with these soothing bath salts. Ulterior motive - you want them refreshed and renewed after the holidays when you're soooo ready to send the little darlings back to school.

Next on the list - your fabulous assistant. Think of all the phone calls they've juggled, the errands run, the typing, the filing, the list goes on and on. After all that, they deserve to sit down, put their feet up and have a spot of tea. Our brand new Chandelier Tea for One will let them do it in style. Even better - after they open the gift and exclaim that you're the best boss ever (after all you bought their gift at CB) - you can serve them that cup of tea. After all, the cup, saucer and teapot are all in one nice little stack - even you can manage that!

Well my darlings, I hate to leave you hanging, but your bff and the sheep wrangler are just going to have to wait until the next installment.

Flora Nikrooz and Mary Green

We got oodles of good stuff in today.....the only ones I got around to unpacking were Florz Nikrooz and Mary Green. Flora Nikrooz makes the most gorgeous lingerie....specifically fabulous bridal lingerie! We starting carrying this line earlier in the year, and our only complaint was that the company didn't offer panties to match the chemises. So I sent a few wishes over to the Eyelash Fairy (I am owed quite a few if you remember....see November 5th blog if not) and VOILA!! We received two beautiful new chemise styles in today that come with matching thongs!! Thank you Eyelash Fairy.

The goodness that arrived from Mary Green is lots of new sleep masks and more stock in styles we already had. I love love love Mary Green sleep masks! They are all silk satin, and are so soft and comfortable to sleep in. Every season Mary Green comes out with lots of fun and fabulous new styles. My favs right now include "Dreaming of Paris"....."Dear Santa, Don't forget the diamonds!"......and one that looks almost identical to Holly Golighty's in Breakfast at Tiffany's! We also have one that works well for men - it has a jolly roger on it and reads "Arr, Don't be bothering me now."

And for the lucky Bride To Be that you plan on spoiling with that Flora Nikrooz set.....throw in a Mary Green bridal sleep mask and garter! We have three styles of bridal sleep masks..."Just Married"....."Love of my Life"....and "Kiss the Bride." And we have four styles of garters - definitely for keeping - they are too pretty to throw! My fav has ostrich feathers with a pearl embellishment.

CB Gift Guide

It's already started...we hear it everyday...an exhausted shopper comes in and begs us to them them find something, anything for their hard to shop for Grandma, bff, faithful assistant, child's teacher, mentor, sheep wrangler (just wanted to see if you were paying attention), or their darling Aunt Mildred.

One of the hardest people on our list to buy for is my 80 year old mother. Josh and Danielle always want to find just the right gift for this special lady, but she's 80 and doesn't want or need anything. I know, I know - I can hear you jumping up and down screaming - YES - my Grandma's the same way!! For your sweet Grandma, Great Grandma, Nana, one of these beautiful pins from the Maximal Art collection is sure to bring a smile. These little works of art are 14k gold over pewter with Australian crystal embellishments. The nice thing is that when she wears it out, it's sure to elicit conversation..."oh you're a Grandmother? So am I... how many grands do you have?" and so on.

Your mentor, the one who has cheered you on at every turn, basked in your successes and shoved you back in the game after you screwed up, they deserve a metal. Since they don't make real "mentor medals" give em something cool they can actually use! The Mini Spoutnik Pen from Recife is the ultimate in cool. The traditional craft techniques used to manufacture these pens insure that each pen is unique as the daring combination of color can never be identically reproduced. A one of a kind for a one of a kind.

Darling Aunt Mildred, she's the fabulous aunt who took you to your first r-rated movie, let you taste your first champagne, and bought you that one to die for gift that your folks wouldn't spring for, but that you just had to have or you would die. The Queen Bee Necklace from Dogeared will remind her that she's royalty! It's the least you can do...

Sorry I didn't get to the sheep wrangler, bff, faithful assistant or child's teacher tonight, but stay tuned.

Baby's 1st Christmas

Good to be back in Curtsyland! The Captain and I had a fabulous visit in Idaho.....his grandma is an amazing cook - we had a wonderful Turkey Day. We drove over to Idaho with one of the Captain's sisters, her husband, and their new little girl Avery Jo who is about 18 months old. Avery Jo is the CUTEST!!! On Thanksgiving Day...her mama dressed her up in a cute dress and accessorized with little shoes that squeak with every step!!! I about died of jealously....I have never had shoes that make sounds ;-( Now that I know that Avery Jo likes to have music wherever she goes....I will definitely be giving her our new reindeer shoes for Christmas. These adorable little booties play "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" when you press the nose!

We also just received holiday onesies for the little ones. Each one has a Santa Baby saying on the front...and an extra little message on the back. Sayings include...."99% Nice - 1% Naughty"....."Santa Baby - Ho Ho Ho!"......and "Silent Night?- Up all Night!" And something warm and snuggly for the little one to cuddle with during their first Christmas....a Baby's 1st Christmas Snowman Snuggler!

So hopefully everyone has recovered from their self induced turkey trance! My Thanksgiving was great - son Josh cooked the turkey. He always comes up with these crazy brines to marinate the bird in, but it comes out perfect every time. The ingredients he used for this year's soak made for a really interesting gravy! We always have a great group, inviting anyone who doesn't have someplace to go - the more the merrier. Always memorable!!

Break out the Schnapps! The Candy Cane Shot Glasses have arrived! These edible vessels will add a little minty flavor to your holiday libations. I think this is a case where you can have your drink and eat it too!
You will have to excuse the Curtsy Girls during the holiday season. The blog will be shorter than usual as our days tend to be full to the brim with gift wrap, gift wrap and more gift wrap. We'll still do our best to keep you updated on the fun stuff that's in stock.

Getting a Jump on Things

Curtsy Girl Danielle just departed for her adventure to Idaho with the Captain and his family. He has a great big wonderful family, so I know they'll have a fabulous time. It was tough getting her out the door this afternoon as Mike the UPS guy was generous once again (ok, enough already) and left us lots of boxes of goodies to drool over. That is one of the fun parts of our jobs - getting to open and play with all the new stuff.

During the past few weeks, it's been so crazy with all the new booty arriving daily that I've been rushing during the last half an hour here to get the blog done. So today, being the smart cookie that I am, I decided to start early. I've now been working on this piece of amazing prose for over 2 hours as every time I start to type, someone walks in the door, or the phone rings or Snickers is crossing his legs. I admit, there could be worse problems.

So a new business card case came in today and I can already think of at least 3 people I know who will be getting this from Santa! The engraving on the silverplated case reads "I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet". Perfect for the fashionista in your life.

I've had a lot of our customers trying to get a jump on the holiday madness that begins on Friday. Hostess gift for holiday gatherings, the perfect thing for that impossible to buy for friend, something that your picky mother in law will actually like. Calm down, relax, take a deep breath - The Curtsy Girls always come through for you. Who wouldn't love this sparkly ice scoop to swank up their next shindig? A leather handle toped with a rhinestone crown will make the bar sparkle. Cute new sets of cocktail napkins are always a welcome gift. Who wouldn't love the ribbon bedecked acrulic holder with napkins that say"Did you hear that slutty is the new black"? Ok, probably not your mother in law, but your girlfriends - oh yeah!

Have an amazing Thanksgiving!

Queen Alice

The Captain and I are heading to Idaho for Thanksgiving tomorrow!! We will be staying with his Mom, and his Grandma and Grandpa will host turkey day. I am so looking forward to meeting the Captain's grandparents.....I just have to figure out good host and hostess gifts! I wanted to get the gorgeous new Gianna Rose gift sets that Curtsy Mama mentioned yesterday displayed before I leave. I LOVE the Alice in Wonderland collection by Gianna Rose Atelier......so many little details to discover on each of the soaps, the gift boxes, the little charms that hang off the boxes.....love!

Anyways, I wanted to display these new goodies near our Tarina Tarantino Queen Alice collection......and while moving each pretty piece of sparkling goodness.....I totally fell head over heels in love with the collection again. This always happens to me - not meaning that I ever stopped adoring it - its just that I easily fall for lots of new products on a daily basis whether it be new things that arrive or things I find on the web that I want for the store. But as soon as I need to create a new display with something we have carried for awhile.....especially Tarina somethings.....I fall all over again ;-) The collection is inspired by the vintage "Alice in Wonderland" illustrations. All the favorite characters can be found in the beautiful and detailed illustration cameos on each of the necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. My fav is the White Rabbit pink carved lucite bracelet.....and the giant red lucite heart necklace that is fit for a Queen...of hearts! And I love the cast metal Alice cameo necklace....it hangs on a fab chunky textured chain.

Hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!

Grateful Thanks

During this week the words give thanks and gratitude are repeated many times as we gather with family and friends. The Curtsy Girls and Boys want to take a minute to let all our wonderful customers know how much we appreciate your support. We all have a great time doing what we do at the store and thank you for allowing us to continue - it's so much more fun than having real jobs! Curtsy Dog Snickers wants to thank everyone for all the pets love you give his poor pitiful self.

Last week I talked about how Alice in Wonderland is so hot right now. Our faithful UPS driver Mike today delivered Alice's Treasures from Wonderland. Adventures and intrigue are the inspiration for Gianna Rose Atelier for this fabulous collection. Three sculpted guest soaps in a porcelain soap dish include keys that fit into talking keyholes, timepieces of rabbits who run late…for very important dates, and of a Queen of Hearts who has lost her tarts. All are ensconced in a vibrant, baroque-style collector box, embellished with a key charm and story hand tag.

To The Theater

My pal Pam and I had a night on the town last night. It began with trying to get through the post Husky game traffic (can we say nightmare?). I always park my car on NE 30th. Ever since they installed the sidewalk this summer, it has become essentially a one lane road. Cars park on both sides and especially on game days, the traffic is heavy and horrible. My car has been sideswiped TWICE within the last month, both on game days! The first time it was hit, the young lady left me a sweet note and took responsibility. Last night, the cretan who hit me didn't leave anything except a big swatch of white paint. I'm a big believer in what goes around comes around, so to the person who hit me - karma called and she's pissed!!.

We had tickets to Whistle Down the Wind at the 5th Avenue Theater. To me, tickets for just about anything downtown give me a great excuse to dress up. Before I left the store, I used a little of Soular Therapy's Glitz body and clothing shimmer spritz. Designed to be sprayed directly on your skin or to add that finishing touch to your outfit, it made the black dress I was wearing ready for dinner & the theater. A little spritz of Glitz will give you a beautiful subtle shimmer.

During intermission it's just such fun to people watch. While standing in the usual long line for the ladies room, I noticed a lot of sparkle. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, not over the top, but 1 piece that stands out. We recently received the perfect pair of holiday earrings from our friends at Tarina Tarantino. Gold, silver and crystal, pair these drops with your little black dress and voila!

Well, that's it for tonight - I'm off to brave the crowds at QFC - yippee!

Panties Panties Panties

Curtsy Mama mentioned the panty tree has arrived......I must expand on what it is filled with. Honeydew Intimates' new fall styles are TO DIE FOR!!!!! My absolute fav print is powder pink with little gold crowns.....and above the crowns reads Spoiled Rotten!!! Another new print is white adorned with blue diamonds and reads Bling Bling.....so freakin' cute!

We also received these fabulous new solid color lace bralettes and boy shorts in the yummiest jewel tone fall colors. Also new from them for fall.....they took their classic leopard print and lined it in those fabulous jewel tones. We have the leopard lined in a deep royal purple and may get more colors in before Christmas. We are also stocked back up on the zebra undies.....they flew out the door with the first shipment! We have the zebra in the rumba ruffle panty, the classic boy short, and the adjustable thong. Honeydew makes the best undies....great for holiday gifts for your girlfriends....and of course don't forget about yourself ;-)

I feel like I sold a bazillion Christmas cards today......not surprising seeing as we have such a fab selection of naughty, unconventional holiday cards. Most of my favs come from O Plus D....and of course mainly feature the F word - all our favorite cards do. A great way to ensure your friends and fam actually read the card you spend the time and stamp money to send instead of throwing it away instantly out of boredom...:-)

Ooh La La..

Snickers had a visit today from two of his favorite friends. They treated him like the prince he thinks he is, with loads of hugs, kisses and treats. He's been impossible to live with all afternoon! Stare, whine, pout, stare, whine, pout....

Everyone has certain holiday traditions that they observe every year, and the Curtsy Girls are no exception. We know the holidays have officially arrived when we put out The Panty Tree. The new Honeydew shipment showed up today and it's so stinkin cute!!!! Loads of new rhumba shorts, boy shorts, bralettes and thongs. The tree is loaded with just what you need under that pretty party dress to make you feel even more fabulous!

Tonight's blog is a little short, I know, but I've been sitting here for 15 minutes staring at the screen and I'm absolutely blank! It's Friday, quit reading the blog, go out, have fun, be daring, do something un-expected!

Sticky Part II

So guess what the Captain and I did last night??!? We cleaned up another f***ing bottle of wine that exploded in our kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!! (See October 7th blog) We received an email from the winery yesterday letting us know that they had accidentally sent us a replacement bottle from the same batch that the original exploding bottle came from; to discard it and they would send us another from a new batch. We did not have the heart to just throw away such yummy wine....they recommend drinking the wine heated garnished with a cinnamon stick...and also mention it is good on top of ice cream. So I was all ready to begin our cozy fall night with our spiced wine.....set with the saucepan and ice cream. As the Captain went to get the wine ready for me, he pulled out the cork.......and all I saw was red everywhere!!! He quickly got it over the sink....but the kitchen looked pretty much just as bad as the first time. About a third of the bottle was left once all was settled....so we did get to enjoy about a half mug each and a little over our ice cream after the cleaning was done. Oy vey.....our poor kitchen!

I started sorting out all of the goodies for our Stocking Stuffer Party today........OMG I am so excited!! We have oodles and oodles and oodles of perfect little stuffers that will ensure your stockings will be the most exciting part of Christmas this year (unless Santa brings you a diamond......or a new car.....or a pair of Manolos). We received lots of adorable stocking stuffer goodness from Tatiri....an Italian company that makes fabulous toys, accessories, musical items, and gifts for little ones. A few goodies came that are too big to put in stockings so I put them out today.....

Adorable stationary cases are perfect for budding young artists! Inside you will find 15 colored pencils in 6 different colors, a 6 in. ruler, a pair of plastic scissors, an eraser, and a pencil sharpener. They also make these adorable toothbrush holder/timers......makes the important task of brushing those pearly whites fun while brightening up the bathroom! I have always loved to personalize things.....I also remember becoming bored and moving on from toys quite quickly when I was little. This adorable snow globe allows kids to personalize it and change it as often as they fancy....too cute!!!

Drink in the Greats

"The problem with some people is that when they're not drunk, they're sober" W.B. Yeats. Amen to that!! Great Drinkers Shot Glass set features quotes by some famous imbibers - W.B. Yates, Oscar Wilde, Dorothy Parker and W.C. Fields. The set of four two-ounce glasses includes each writer's image on one side and their drinking wisdom on the other.

Speaking of literary greatness - Alice in Wonderland never seems to go out of style. No wonder - the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and Alice are just such crazy, wonderful characters. This set of die cut cards includes a sheet of quotes from each character to personalize your note. "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast" The Mad Hatter Wow, I can so relate to that!

You know how The Curtsy Girls love everything sparkly? This summer in San Fransisco we found the floor lamp that makes all the other lamps feel like ugly duckings! Like a grounded chandelier, this pretty princess is dripping with crystals. The shade is made out of these crazy tiny wire mesh strands that allow all the bling to shine through. mmmmmmmm.....Pretty!!

Skeem Candles

The Captain's Mom surprised me at Curtsyland today! She now lives down in Olympia, so we do get to see that portion of the Captain's family often.....but it is never often enough!! It was a fabulous start to the day....she got a jump on some Christmas shopping before heading out to meet the Captain for lunch.

We received an absolutely wonderful candle line in today! Skeem candles feature amazing designs on glass scented candles. My fav collection is the Empire pillar collection, which features a modern montage of iconography reflecting the decadence and extravagance of the legendary monarchies. The scents of this collection extend the romantic feel of the candle and include Jasmine Tea, Spice Trade, and Cucumber Elixir.

The Filigree collection features a beautifully intricate lace design that comes in 24 carat gold, platinum, or graphic black ink. The irresistible scents in this collection include Sweet Basalm, Amber Clove and Tea Leaf. The candles in the Empire and the Filigree collections have 90 hours of burn time!

Two other larger lantern candles arrived....one with a filigree design similar to the smaller ones....the other titled "Specimen" which combine drawings, documentation, and charts inspired by the field journals of Victorian naturalists. The lantern candles have 240 hours of burn time....fab!! And the absolute best part of these candles....once you have enjoyed burning them until they will burn no more, just stick the glass in the freezer to easily remove the remaining wax, then use as drinking glass, pencil cup, vase, anything you fancy!

A Gift for the Guys

First order of business was making a copy of our security video showing the young lady stealing the flask for the police. Ooh - did I call her a young lady?hmmmm...not really the best word to describe her, but well, don't get me started. We were able to print out a nice pic of her face and a nice clear video of her slipping the flask in her purse. The Curtsy Girls don't take shoplifting lying down - we work way too hard!

We all know that office mishaps can strike at any time. Stain on the tie, buffalo breath, hair out of control? Help the man in your life be prepared for whatever life (or his boss) can throw at him. The Working Guys Survival Kit is designed to help men survive minor mishaps and emergencies at the office. Inside the cool little metal case are things like shoe shine sponges, deodorant, stain remover, a razor, wrinkle remover and... well you get the picture.

The Labels for Beginners onesies by Deadly Girl Couture is the way to insure your baby is fashion forward right from the very beginning. Dress your up and coming fashionista in Pradada, Gucci Coo, Burpberry or one of the other designs from thie adorable line. What's even better is that this company is owned by a University of Washington grad!

CB Hates Bad People

We had our first known shoplifting incident today!! I feel so sad and violated :-( I noticed that a very pretty pink moc croc flask was missing from the sales floor. After Curtsy Mama confirmed she hadn't sold it.....a particular lady who had been in earlier came to both our minds first. We rewound the security tapes and sure enough.....that lady was under the impression payment wasn't required for that pretty flask. Unfortunately, I am not sure she was aware that if you steal from Curtsyland you will FOREVER be cursed with a terrible fashion sense...NO ONE will talk to you at parties again EVER...and ice cream & cupcakes will FOREVER taste like dog poo. Ooohhh.....and you will ALWAYS be on the Curtsy Girl's Shit List. Too bad for her.

In happier news.......we received the only cookie cutters you will need this holiday season. Sure to bring a smile and giggle out of any recipient.....the ABC (Already Been Chewed) Cookie Cutters bake perfect little maimed Gingerbread Men. You don't even have to worry about how your cookies taste if throwing a holiday bash.....just watch amused as your guests leave them behind on the tray. We also received a fabulous cutting board that can be stored away right on the shelf with your cookbooks. The cutting board appears to be a book and is titled Romeo & Julienne....tee hee!!

A Winning Equation

Are you cooking for Thanksgiving or have you been lucky enough to be invited out? My mother always taught me that when you are invited to someone's home for dinner you should always take a hostess gift. Now, I've never been too good at doing what my mother told me, but this is one piece of advice I've followed. A bottle of wine is great, but kind of boring. You have never been one to be boring or give boring stuff to those people who are kind enough to cook for you. We've got a great selection of Wine Stoppers and other little things that can help you say "Thanks for feeding me". The Curtsy Girls will wrap it so that you show up on the doorstep looking like your fabulous self. Great gift + classy wrapping = another invitation.

When Curtsy Girl Danielle was growing up, she was a dancer - a serious dancer! I started her in a dance class when she was 5 just for fun with no idea how it would rule her life (and mine) for the next 12 years. As she got older, I can't even begin to count the number of point shoes she would go through in a year! When she was still a little ballerina, she danced several times in The Nutcracker. What a memorable experience for her and for me. When we saw this Nutcracker Theater, we knew we had to have it for the store. I know many of you have your own little ballerinas or a family tradition of seeing the spectacular Pacific Northwest Ballet production each year. This theater with all the individual little movable characters and props will serve as a reminder of those cherished family times.

All I want for Christmas.....

I finally got to put out the Rosanna "A Charmed Life" collection today......I don't think I have ever loved any tableware more!!!! The collection includes a Tea For One, mugs, and appetizer plates. Each of the four designs will let your guests know exactly what you REALLY want from Santa Baby. They read...."All I want for Christmas is a pair of designer shoes"......"All I want for Christmas is a huge diamond ring"....."a gorgeous designer handbag"....."a pair of beautiful chandelier earrings." Couldn't have said it better myself......LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we received The Box Girls who make these fabulous Box of Questions for all sorts of events. Designed to help you connect with your friends and family in a more meaningful way....exchange ideas, dialogue, and bond with the people you love. We all know how stressful the holidays can be.....and we all know that for some silly reason we always end up talking about work or school when we should just be enjoying each other's company. Well, just in time for Turkey Day......the Thanksgiving Box of Questions! What a fab way to bring new topics to the table this year. We also received the Girlfriend's Box of Questions - great for birthdays, showers, lunches, teas and more!

My day began at the periodontists, never a fun way to start. After 8 shots (YES 8 SHOTS!!!) of Novocaine, part of my mouth was still not numb, so they just finished the procedure without it - wasn't that fun? It's always so enjoyable coming back to work and greeting customers with only half of my face working - yee haw!

Anyhoo, yesterday I told you about the Stocking Stuffer Party on December 13th, but what if you don't have a stocking, or what if you don't have a pretty stocking? We have a great selection of the prettiest, most fabulous stockings ever. With names like Twinkle toes, Kaleidoscope and Black Lace, Santa is sure to notice these. And guys, don't worry, a couple of these styles are sure to appeal to your inner child!

I love to burn candles - the warm glow of candlelight can make even a weekday after work dinner seem a little magical. Even though most nights I'm just cooking for myself, I deserve a little magic in my life, we all do. These 100% Beeswax Candles come in lots of scrumptious colors - I'm currently obsessed with the purple! Fleur de Lis, Pearls, Crystals, Glitter there's a color and embellishment to fit your every mood.

Up To My Elbows!

I have been up to my elbows unpacking and pricing stocking stuffers today. On Christmas morning The Curtsy Girls and Boys love to see what Santa left them in their socks. Being one of Santa's helpers from way back, I've always found it so hard to score lots of great little stocking sized goodies. So, on December 13th from 6 - 8PM we will be hosting the first Curtsy Bella Stocking Stuffer Party ! We've been squirreling away oodles of great little gifts that are the right size and price for every one's stocking! We won't be putting any of these little gems out until that evening. Just to make it a bit more festive, Curtsy son/brother Josh will be providing some live music. If you haven't already done so, make sure you RSVP to let us know you're coming. By the way, you'll probably want to book one of those sitters you meet at the next Mommy Mixer for that night as this will not be a child-friendly event.

Danielle has started working on getting up the trees and ornaments, so I thought I would post a few pictures of some of our amazing decorations. Jewelry for the Tree is the name for the dazzling and expertly crafted ornaments from the John Toole Collection. John combs thrift stores, antique malls and estate sales for the inspirations for his creations. These are the ornaments that are lovingly passed down for generations. A wonderful hostess gift or something for your favorite teacher, these are gifts from the heart. You know you can tell a lot about a company by the way their shipments arrive at our store. More times than not, items arrive broken or damaged due to poor packaging. When our shipment came from John Toole, it was packaged perfectly! Not one broken ornament and that, to me, says everything about this man's passion for quality. Amazing - right?

Goodbye Halloween.....Swello Holidays!!!!

All Halloween goodies are gone and holiday goodness is on its way! I am so excited to transform Curtsyland into a Holiday wonderland I can hardly stand it! It will still be a few days before I get everything out....I wanted the store to be non-holidayish tomorrow as we have photographers from Seattle Magazine coming(!!) and I am guessing the issue wont be out 'til next year.

We received oodles of new styles of our jeweled business card cases and purse holders. I love love love these business card cases....I use them when going out at night while carrying a clutch.....my i.d. and credit cards fit perfectly in them. The purse holders are a must to always carry around in your handbag. There is nothing worse than having to set your purse on a nasty restaurant floor....the hook just hangs on the side of the table and you hang your handbag on it. We also received contact lens cases, manicure sets and pill boxes with the same designs.

Oh how I wish my feet were itty bitty things so they could fit in our new Shaggies!! These adorable little booties come in pink or blue and have a non skid bottom. So cute for the little ones to wear on those freezin' cold days and nights in store for us!
