Adventures in Curtsyland!

Here's the real story from last week!

In talking about the craziness of last week, what we couldn't tell you was that Danielle was planning a surprise 30th b-day party for the Captain. Now, you've all been in the store and have seen the magic she works at Curtsyland. With that in mind, I'm sure you can imagine what happened when she let loose her party planning diva! Insanity is what ensued! Needless to say, the past week was pretty much totally devoted to fabricating all of the favors and decorations she dreamed up. When my brother showed up unexpectedly last Monday, it really made for an extra interesting week trying to juggle everything around. The party was yesterday at the Kangaroo & Kiwi Pub on Aurora and it was a smashing success! Lots of people, great food and a lot of laughs!

While we were cranking out decorations, the back room was piling up with UPS. No problem.....until today, when our driver, Mark, delivered 10 more boxes. OK - I didn't really want a day off this week anyway! With Spring in the air it seems that everyone in Seattle has thoughts of gardening. The first boxes I un-packed today were filled with these nifty gifts from UK favorite Wild and Wolf. They collaborated with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London to create a line of pretty tools for those friends who love digging in the dirt! The Anemone Print is by British designer William Morris, whose work is associated with the Arts and Crafts Movement and the Victorian era. The tool packaging includes a history of the William Morris print. Almost makes me want to plant something!
